STEVE WYNN
Plays 'em all!
Steve Wynn, leader and founder of the Dream Syndicate, will be touring Italy, Germany, Spain and the UK this November with Chris Cacavas formerly of Green on Red. For the shows outside of Spain Steve will be on his ‘Plays ‘Em All’ tour playing songs from across all his career and acts including the Miracle Three, Dream Syndicate, the Baseball Project, Gutterball, Danny & Dusty and Hazel Motes. Steve has been touring Europe now for over 40 years and his show will draw from a good portion of his 40 plus albums.
For the Spanish dates Steve will be supporting the Spanish publication and translation of “I Wouldn’t Say It If It Wasn’t True,” his debut book, a memoir with stories as well as songs from his career.
He will be supported by Chris Cacavas around the release of a new Green on Red six cd box set. Chris will be playing solo songs from across his career and the end of the night they will join together for a few tunes. Steve has a new live album he will have with him recorded on his last run of Italy as well as his most recent studio album ‘Make It Right’ on Fire Records. For the first of his two UK dates Steve will be performing at the 25th anniversary Americana UK festival with Chuck Prophet in Liverpool.
Steve’s Spanish memoir details the winding path from growing up a music fan and pre-teen bandleader in Los Angeles through the formation and ultimate dissolution of the Dream Syndicate at the end of their first era in 1988. There are stops along the way for tales of cross-country greyhound trips to track down Alex Chilton to wild, off-the-rails tours with U2 and R.E.M. and the epic heart-of-darkness making of the band’s controversial second album Medicine Show and plenty more. The album is a similarly, reflective and intimately revealing collection, written and recorded in tandem with the writing of “I Wouldn’t Say It If It Wasn’t True.”
